I think these slides were released as some sort of promotional package for the Homestake Mining Company in Lead, South Dakota (they are labeled September 1963). The Homestake Mine was the largest and deepest gold mine in North America until it closed in 2002. I have some (just a tiny bit) of its famous “Black Hills gold.” I scanned these slides and color-corrected more or less as best I could.
